Durobond — regenerated natural rubber, 10–11 MPa

Regenerated natural rubber for compounds that cannot afford to lose physicals. At 10–11 MPa tensile it sits at the top of our range and behaves far closer to virgin natural rubber than ordinary reclaim.

Reclaim rubber is usually bought to take cost out, and accepted with a known loss in tensile. Durobond is the grade for compounds where that trade is not available — high-performance tyre and technical rubber mixes that have to hold their numbers through an OEM specification.

It is regenerated natural rubber (RNR), supplied as rough sheet in 20 kg HDPE bags. Because the tensile is high, the useful loading in a compound is higher too: you replace more virgin natural rubber per kilo than a 4 or 7 MPa reclaim allows, which is where the real saving shows up.

Durobond is made on the same raw-material discipline as the rest of our range — truck tyre tread only, with input testing before anything enters the process. That is what makes the top of the range repeatable rather than occasional.

Where it is used

  • High-performance tyre compounds where reclaim was previously ruled out
  • Conveyor belting and heavy-duty technical goods
  • Moulded rubber components with a tensile specification
  • Compounds replacing a share of virgin natural rubber
  • Retreading compounds needing better physicals than standard reclaim

Questions buyers ask
How close is it to virgin natural rubber?

Far closer than ordinary reclaim. At 10–11 MPa it allows a higher replacement level of virgin natural rubber than a 7 MPa grade, which is where the cost benefit actually lands.

Why choose Durobond over NRM80?

NRM80 at 8 MPa is the workhorse. Durobond is for compounds where the specification leaves no headroom and you need the top of the range.

What is the packing?

Rough sheet in 20 kg HDPE bags, palletised for container loading on export orders.

Can I get batch test values?

Yes. Every consignment carries batch-wise values from our own laboratory and a COA.
